I too would like to see the date change.I own a 63 Galaxie and a 65 Mustand which I bring to the Ford Nationals. But I also own a Street Rod and would like to go to the nationals in York. The past two years I have went to both 2 days at one and 2 at the other.I think your numbers would go up alot with a weekend change.

I think you guys have a good idea, if there's another big FORD Show that same weekend near by it makes sense. BUT don't push too hard for it this year as I have pulled teeth to be able to make the trip from CA. for next years event and BOSS Car Reunion. Please don't change the dates.

Well, as far as changing the dates, for the post two years the weather has been horrible for the events. Since weather gets better the later into summer we get, this would help all of us. Also, many people have kids, myself included and it is hard to arrange things this early in the year.

As president of a large club, I would like to see a date change to a date later in the year.

This would help us all.

Thanks,

I do agree again, wish my son could make the trip next year. He'll still have 3 weeks of school and just can't miss that much, not to mention finals. Last weekend of June, first one in May would be great. I could change plans for him to attend.

Hey there, this is in response to the event date for All FORD. We have been sharing the weekend with the York Street Rod event from the very beginning. We know that owners of street rods choose to do the York show and that is why we don't see a lot of rods registered on the All Ford show field. They must choose one event over the other. But when it come to spectator attendance there are a number of people that appreciate two events on the same weekend. They can travel to this area and attend two national events saving time and travel expense. Regarding Maple Grove, as of today 10/11/04 Maple Grove has not established the date for the 2005 Ford Motorsports Nationals. Our event dates are projected two to three years in advance. We have always been the first weekend in June and Maple Grove selected to place their motorsports event on that date. A date change can have a domino effect on many other events we think the Ford show is working well and we do not want to effect our vendors, spectators and other event promoters. We do not anticipate changing the date. Now about that RAIN, What to do, What to do? Grin and bear it. I believe this year we had rain every weekend from May to August. Heck I think we may have had rain every day from May to August. So, thank you to everyone that came out and enjoyed the show, your support and loyality to the event was great. Wish I could promise sunny skies for 2005 but I can't. But be assured we will promise to make every effort to deliver another blue oval fun filled weekend. Just throw the rain gear in the trunk just in case :)

I'd say the main reason you don't get many streetrods at the ford event is because they arn't ford powered I do remember seeing a ford powered vette at the first or second ford show.

I am a season pass holder; and I know what you mean about the rain. I asked one of the people working the gate if they new what my season pass was. He said, yes it is a pass for the entire season. I said, jokingly, no it is a weather forecasting tool, if there is a date on it look for rain. :) We both got a chuckle. Lets hope for better luck next year

Please don't change the date! To me, it's the official start of summer! I've been to every All Ford Nationals and have always had a great time! Some years I go over to York on Sunday for the rods. I've also been to numerous other Carlisle events and the weather is always unpredictable. Must be something in the mountain air! Great event on the right weekend, please don't change! See you JUNE 3rd!

Thanks for all the input, but we have no plans to change the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals date.

When looking at it from the outside it would appear easy to change dates, but there is an entire layer of complexity that makes it difficult. These factors include our facility, our vendors, the Ford Motor Company, competing events, spectators and show field participants, just to name a few. Sometimes a date change can start a domino effect within all the areas effected by the decision.

One date change that we did make for the 2005 season is that we moved the All-GM Nationals show off of Father's Day.

I totally agree that the dates stink. This will be my families fourth AFN show. Every year it falls when the hot rods are in York... and yes I can see how thats a problem...what I do is see the hot rods when they are in Ocean City. Ocean City Hot Rod show is THE BEST OLD CAR SHOW around!!!Hands Down. Anyways the AFN last year was bad because of Maplegrove. I'm with the rest of ya but lets face it life is about choices and you either choose not to go or go. I'll be there no matter when they have it.
