Chevy rocks

I dont think the year breaks in the classes were fair. Chevy 2wd wild was from 1973 Back. 2wd radical was 1949-1987. Previous years had better year breaks for the classes. The most popular classic trucks at the event were the 1967-1972 chevy trucks, I think they should have their own year breaks. I have been attending the truck nationals for 13 years, and I dont think I will go back unless their are more classes.

Classes should go by body styles like 88 to 98 for chevy, and so on for other makes. But overall same body style in same classes with mild, wild, and radical classes. Also there should be a limit on how many years in a row you can enter/place in the under construction class. For example there is a '48 (?) studebaker (although a beatiful truck) that has been entering the under contruction class for years and always places. I ran my first year under construction this year and when I saw him still in "primer" decided to not be judged. He took 3rd this year with the same truck as last year when he won. But overall my thought is lump the body style's together. It won't be that hard as car makers don't change truck bodies that often.

take a look at what they did to my class..
GM 4x4 Radical (all) no year breakdown.. It funny how you can win an award 4 years in a row, even be asked to show in the Invitational, and not even place in the standings.
Fun field for me next year, If I decide to go back.. they're really dropping the ball on this show...

not sure what to say:
Maybe I'm offbase here but
192 trophies (63 classes?) plus the "best ofs"
2500 ?? trucks (not sure how many in competition)
pretty good odds.
Maybe its just me but a placque/trophy said
1st place
FUN FIELD
judged competion
 - "Fun field ???" and NO mention of the class
------------I thought I won a truck show in a specific class
"fun field judged"-- sounds like something that a local event put on a particiapation certificate in a hurry

It's cool to park with your buddies but sucks for spectators to find what they are into.

It seemed to work a lot better when they had a Non-judged field and a judged field. Then on Saturday everyone would be in their repective classes with like vehicles. I thought that worked very well. The drive up judging seemed to be a pain especially for the poor 4wd drive guys and gals that got stuck in the aisle while the judges took almost an hour lunch! At least we were able to give them beer to keep their "spirits" up!

Like I said in another thread, it's hard to find a judging procedure that everyone is happy with. We will definitely keep all your comments in mind when planning next year's show.
