It's already done guys - it's something we've been talking with the folks at Carlisle Productions about since April. Take a look here and you'll see it's mentioned in the little blurb about the Ford 2005 show:
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/schedule/index.asp
Now we just need to live up to our goal of 200+ Merkurs on the show-field, the greatest assembly of Merkurs in one place since they first arrived on the U.S. shores in 1985!
More details to come over the following months, but for now, just block out June 3-5 2005 on your calendar.

Good luck guys. It's always neat to see that many Merkurs in one spot when we're at Carlisle. I know there are usually a dozen or more that head down just from Ontario.
cheers,
Ed N.
We are planning to have one of the largest Merkur gatherings ever. Spread the word. It would be great to hit that 200 number. Check the web site for updated information. Registration will be available on line sometime in December. Later.....lisa

Man, that's awesome! I was one of the folks that didn't realize that they were there. Got any pics of em?
Also, did I hear correctly over the PA that the winner of the giveaway Merkur was in the Merkur club? How cool is that?

I am still recovering (need sleep!) from the greatest shows yet! Thank goodness that the rain held off for all those that attended the All Ford Nationals.
Yes, the give-a-way car was won by a present Merkur Club of America member! How luck is that :D !? Not only does he love XR's, his broke down down before the show and he rented a car to get there!
The MCA actually gave another XR away, one at our annual awards banquet held on Saturday evening. It was a red XR4Ti donated by Hartman Automotive from Maryalnd, one of our sponsors which has been supporting the Merkur community for years!
We also set a record for largest club ever to attend a Carlisle All Ford National event, 236 Merkurs!!! As a group, we just love getting together here at Carlisle. If you had a chance to look at the cars you would have seen license plates from ALL OVER; as far as Canada, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, even California! The convoy from California started as two cars and ended up being 60 strong by the time they got to Carlisle registration (sorry registration people!).
Yes, Carlisle does do a great job getting some great Fords there. I saw amazing Mustangs, T-birds, Bosses (love those Bosses!) just to name a few.
Thank you to everyone who made it great!

If you thought the rain held off it was clear that you was not there friday.
But you are correct it was a great show inspite of the wet friday...looking forward to next year.

Dave,
I stand corrected! ;) You are right, it did rain all day Friday clearing in the late evening. I did get to our hotel at Carlisle on Thursday evening while it was still dry. I was lucky enough to get a ride with another MCA member so my car would remain clear albeit wet. I did walk around and get wet like everyone else on Friday. I was so excited the rain stopped on Saturday and Sunday, I totally forgot about Friday!
I hope the rain did not hurt vendor sales as it did on previous years. From what Bill Miller had told me, I doubt it with the record attendance they had.

I put the hair dryer from the hotel in my sneakers and they dried out quickly! Thank goodness because I only had one pair!

Duck shoes are like a prerequisite for the show field.
We'll see you next year with three pair of foot wear.
