This is always a topic of concern for most people. Some people want to be in classes, others want to park wherever they want.
In 2005 we had the field split between 2wd and 4wd, then mini trucks were seperate from that. The problem I have with that is you can lower a 4wd and you can lift a 2wd. I had an idea, what do you think about parking things like this in 2006:
Lowered, Lifted, Stock, Classic and maybe under construction.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

That sounds good, but I would hope that clubs could still all be parked together regardless of the truck specs. I know FordTruckWorld has a huge variaty of trucks be we all enjoy be parked with one another and would hate to see us separated.
I don't know how you could work that out though. Unless you had an area for clubs, and then orginize the rest of the singles in that manner.

its a nice idea and all but For clubs like Sportruckworld We have a varity of trucks in our chapter - Lifted / stock / lowered / body mods / Adjustable suspenison (ETC ) It wouldn't be right if we weren't allowed to park together ... i am sure that 99% of us will be parked together IN Fun field. although this year coming up i have to mix in another - I joined a regular truck club this year. Even tho i am Pres of the pa chapter of the stw forum . Some how i'll mix the two together so we can all hang out ( if i get majority of my chapter to go as well )

My friends and I are loosely grouped as part of an internet forum, We are predominantly S-Series blazers and pickups although we have full size trucks too.
While I do not wish to particapate against true truck clubs for the particapation awards, we would like to park together just to meet each other face to face and see each others rides.
In rough numbers, there will be between 25 and 50 of us. I am as close to the ALPHA male as this group can offer and can steer the herd in a general direction, LOL.
Any suggestions as to how to help us do that?

I like the idea of setting aside a section just for groups/clubs. Maybe reserve a section of the fun field to each group that pre-registers? This could have a negative effect on judging if you go back to the walk around judging though. Personally, this year I am bringing my truck with plans to compete but would really like to park with my friends. (one of BIGJSPs beta males, haha) We were able to get a few of us together in the fun field last year but in no way were able to demonstrate how many people/trucks actually came to support us.
If you decide to go back to walk around judging, would it be possible to keep the trucks parked by groups? (as opposed to being parked by class) I'm not real sure how the judges do that but imagine it would be quite a burden on the judges this way.
Parking w/ your friends/club is what Carlisle is all about. One of the main reasons I attend now is to hang out w/ people I don't normally see but this one time of year.

We are not going back to walk around judging. That is horrible for everyone...you don't get to park with your friends and the judges are out in the sun all day looking for trucks...it sucks for everyone! Anyway, I love the idea of having an area for clubs.
If I could get all the clubs to register, that would be super. If you have a club make sure you get on that. There is a club form online. You need 25 or more vehicles to register to get a tent.
Thanks for that idea. Keep it coming!

[QUOTE=Rich@Carsatcarlisle]If you have a club make sure you get on that. There is a club form online. You need 25 or more vehicles to register to get a tent. QUOTE]
it looks like we call Kristine at (717) 243-7855, ext. 164. and submit form http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/pdf/2006_Club_Tent.pdf and get 25 members to preregistor by July 5th (or prepay $150 (reimbursed if 25 reached)
2 questions: does completeing the tent form block off some dedicated parking space around the tent for both show and non show vehicles. If so I should try to get this number as accurate as possible or will the space be based on the preregistered number at July 5th?
The existing form is also kinda of misleading since parking is essentially general with the switch to drive up judging.
existing form:
# vehicles at tent - non competition_____________
# vehicles parking in fun field ___________
Suggested new form (to hopefully more appropriately read.)
# vehicles at tent "non" competition______________
# vehicles at tent judged competition__________________
Super simple new form I would suggest:
# members preregistered on July 5th________________________

The form reads: # vehicles parking in fun field CLASS COMPETITION - you left that part out. Because all our shows are a bit different this is the best wording. Thanks for the input though.
And yes, if you register for a club tent the most accurate info is core because you do get to park near the tent.
