MAny members of our forum are interested in competing but want to know what class they will be in.

I remember that motor change was 4

roll pan 1
17 inch rims 1

mild was like 10 points or less

body drop was automatic radical

Can you give us the points break down, major rules and class splits?

Classes will not be split by a point system. We will have a hired staff that I have been working with for many years that knows the real way to classify a vehicles. A B/D is not an automatic radical. I know a couple trucks that D/D is all they have, still have stock engine, door handles and road chips in their paint. Also, how can a roll pan get and a bug deflector get you the same points? We have had many comments on that system and I decided not to use it.

If you are asking what is what, than you probably know...mild is few mods, mostly bolt-on easily done in a day or so. Wild is some body work, maybe custom paint. Radical is full on show truck with full paint, engine, interior, and probably a trailer queen.

"showing" needs the equivalent of NHRA bracket racing vs. class racing, but I'm not sure how to do it, LOL.

This is going to be tough for some people like myself whose vehicle lies right at the border between classes.

basically stock appearing
mild exterior -roll pan and 17"s, 3" static drop
factory interior except the Tach
but with a dry nitroused V8 motor swap
Stock radio, but last year I left the sub enclosure in the hotel to stay down a class.

This put me at the top of mild vs the bottom of wild.

Any comments on what to expect this year?

would this be a fair example of under construction? black primer, half gutted interior.

I would say Mild.
A motor swap in an S-10 is like a caddy clip on a fullsize...it's an easy "bolt-on" mod. You know, not easy...but it doesn't take a lot of fabrication.

what is gonna be the specs. for under construction then? Cause if full primer won't cut it I gotta go find a painter quick

Under construction is always a hot topic - one of my complaints is at that some places I have seen the same vehicle in the same condition for a couple years. I would love to see a cap on the # years that the same vehicle can be in that class, although I am not sure how to ever manage it.

The popularity of rat rides and retro look is also starting to cloud the issue as the finished product isn't "painted".

my thought on that is the '49 studdie that has placed in under construction at the truck show for at least 3 of the last 5 years maybe more. Don't get me wrong it is a great looking truck but give him a retro class to clean house in.

When I said mild...and you posted this...we were talking about two different trucks. I was talking about the Blazer from the post above (view the link).

The full size that is pictured, yes that would be under construction.

I would like to add a retro class because I do know how flat black paint is taking over the world. And it is hard to compare a retro finished truck with a contemporary truck because the goal of the finished product is so different and you cannot class them with under construction just because they don't have shinny paint. You should anticipate there being one.

Hey Rich,
How about adding a "Rat-Ride" class? I know quite a few people who would love that. Have the under-construction class as a vehicle without an engine/interior of the like.

Every year I have ever went to carlisle I have been put in radical....even before the shaved handles, fiberglass interior and Dump bed....In the past I was told the notch is considered a frame modification....Boom Radical!?!?

Chris, you are boarder line Wild / Radical. However, I would swap toward Wild because you're not BD, your interior isn't completly redone (i.e. new seats, all new fabric, etc.) and your bed is almost stock and the tilt bed just makes you need to clean more than the rest of us :D
It is things like a notch making you automatic radical that makes me laugh.

LOL

Did you ever even look in my truck? LOL I haven't had stock seats in 4 years! LOL And the only thing I didn't do to the bed is shave it shut...other then that its shaved inside and out! LOL

Oh well...

I plan un gutting it and going Crazy Carl on the inside this winter! Hold your breath for a BD...Later

C- I guess I don't remember the seats and the bed. After you look at a truck for so many times it blends together.

As for the bikini contest...must be 18+, no thongs and if she gets naked it is automatic disqualification.
