Hello Everyone. I know this question is one that many people like to agrue, and talk about a lot. But, I'd like to know what you think...do you like drive-thru judging or park in classes with walk around judging?
Thanks.

Either or works for me. However, for those of us that part w/ our clubs should be able to stay there (at the tent) to get judged if it ends up being walk around judging and not drive through.

I like the drive up judging.

I can see and hear that the vehicles actually run

........................but its also isn't fair for them to be in >1 hour long "stop and go" lines either.

Any marginal cooling system will fail, many starters and battery systems will be too hot or dead after starting and restarting to get to the tent.........................and then you go to leave and have to get pushed out of the judging tent.

My rearward pointing exhausts on my lowered truck will kick up dust enough to make the vehicle behind me look like some one just drove down a country road.

maybe
- suggested times
- maximum line length

i go with friends that have different class trucks and to park seperatly makes the weekend less fun. i really like the drivethrough idea. but i do understand the the waiting and problems that can come from waiting in line and starting and stopping the engine. but why not have times for each class to go through.maybe start each class every 15 min or so. that way waiting would be minimal

times for each class would be great. But what if you break donw on the way to the show and miss your time? Then you get in someone elses time and that trickles down the line and you have a huge line anyway. And we have 90 classes; some have 10 vehicles and some have 20 so the times would need to alter. I thought about the time slot very hard, and just cannot figure out the correct way to manage that system.

Too bad there isn't enough room for a FAST PASS lane like at Disney for the pregistered.

possibly issue time slips the day of the event

............ of course there are some who might believe that earlier is better than later and others that believe later is better than earlier.

there could always be a slot at the end of judging for people that missed the slot for the class they are in. seems like no matter what you do people are going to not like some of it. the parking in class is great if you come alone or with someone in your class. but my club comes with 2 or 3 trucks and we sometimes have another club with only a couple trucks so reg as a club wont work for us to good i wouldn't think. the drive thru allows us to park and hang out together easily. plus not all of the trucks compete.

At the P+S Show, you had drivethru, PLUS it's not random lanes ! You have to be in a certain lane, so the same judges see all of that class !

judging . pffft its over rated .

if you go to carshows just to get "judged" then your in the hobby for the wrong reasons . If your going to carshows so you can add another trophy to your already growing collection i have a friend i can get you in touch with he'd be happy to send you all the trophies he's gotten . Yea its nice to be recongized for doing a restoration or custom build but this hobby (lifestyle is more like it ) is about Friends making new friends and seeing old friends. and to see whats come out of the garage from last winters tare down . Car show should just be that you show up you pay to show promotor a fee to get in just like an amusement park and you park your truck/car and you get your chair out and have fun !!

I THINK ppl need a reality check . car shows are more then just trophies . i think the reason why has gone like the days of on site camping . ppl thinking its mardi gras and its not . Its fine to have fun but going as far as a mardi gras or girls gone wild is to much .. i think ppl need to think why they're actually in this hobby .

For those of you who do not wish to park in the judged area and want to park with your club tent we will cruise through that area to find vehicles. We will know exactly what trucks are in what class, so we will do our best to track you down. If you have not been marked judged at 5pm, please go to the judges tent (next to Subway) and let them know where you're parked.

nice touch!,

.......... but what should we do if we don't have an offical Carlisle tent, a multitude of people complete with our own signs and canopies even?

I appreciate your patience, there are just so many extra questions when we don't quite do things right ...................... and people always seem to ask me, LOL

I'll kick some a$$ next year and try to get people to take advantage of this tent and dedicated space with the roaming judges .

I am sorry to say, but if you don't have one of our tents in the club tent area; you will probably be missed by the judges. It is on a few short hours that you need to be parked in the judged field. Park there and hang out at your tent.

Thanks.

WELL worded response too. It just gives me more incentive to organize the gang so we get all the benefits of a recognized group in 2007.
