Rich..
I have a few questions on this pull which will help some of my club members who are coming to show and sled pull.Any info which will clear up the confusion will be greatly appreciated and will help my members who desire to pull.I will list the questions below for you to address for us.

1-Define "stock" turbo....
The reason for asking this is you have this listed in both your "Street" and "Modified Street" classes.IF,by saying "stock",you mean as shipped from the factory then you limit the Modified class greatly. Most modified diesel owners have aftermarket turbos and are not running "stock".You could gain alot more trucks to this class by saying "single charger only,no adapters allowed".This will make all owners use a direct bolt on aftermarket single charger.
2-A better breakdown of pulling classes is needed to allow owners to compete in a class for which they are better suited.
What is meant by this is as follows..
Stock-will remain as you have it listed..
Modified-ANY single charger, bolt on only,no adapters allowed and then use the rest of your rules. The only change to this class I would make is to have this a street legal class also, meaning the truck must be able to pass a safety inspection from its registered state.
Open Modified..All others will fit here, the run whatcha brung class.

You will also need to set a maximum hitch height to make it fair for all.26" maximum height is pretty well the standard for most all of the pulling sanctioning bodies. Also you need to make sure that they all know these classes utilize a "reese" style hitch reciever and not a custom built aftermarket hitch(unless they are competing in the Open class).

The main change that has to be addressed is the turbo change for "Modified Diesel" class.IF it is not changed then many owners may pass on pulling due to not wanting to compete with the trailered, twin turbo equipped,NOS fed and built for pulling only trucks.

I am the event co-ordinator for the local diesel club and if you desire help with tech let me know as I will have my pick-up on the grounds all weekend long as I am in the judged competition.I have told Liberator I would be glad to help with tech and registration if he needs the assistence.Let me know what I can do to make this go as smooth as possible as I know its being watched from outside very heavily by local pulling sanctioning bodies to see how the draw goes.........Andy

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the tips on the modified class. I think that was the short version of the class rules. I believe that it is a turbo with a 4" outlet of smaller. Liberator and a couple other guys have been helping with the classification, I will admit that I do not know how to word it. I will talk with my guys about the hitch height too. We want this to go smooth as possible for our first year, but I know we will hit a few bumps along the way. I hope everyone understands that :)

Rich..
I have a couple of follow up questions from my club members...

1-Have you set a minimum hitch and maximum hitch heights yet as you have not posted them for anyone?.They want to know as there is other pulls locally and they do not wish to come only to find out their hook height is not legal for this show.

2-When they pay to enter their respective trucks to pull does this also give them access to the whole days events and after pulling are they permitted to stay or must they leave when the event is done?.

3-Those who have registered to show and be judged already,it says their is no added cost for them to pull,is this correct?.

BTW..
Thanks for clearing up the turbo questions for them and me.Look forward to the show.......Andy

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this all goes very well this year and that next year you will let the Semi's pull. Letting the Rigs into the pulls should double the size of the rigs in the lot. Carlisle has always put on one of the nicer shows in the North East for the rigs but since we have to have them to work we have limited time and we alway have to choose between showing and pulling. Horsepower wins everytime. If you are allowing for Modified TWD's the sled we use is already there. You would be quite amazed at how many pullers there are in NY, PA & MD.

We had a few bumps that we'll smooth out, but overall I think the Pull went well. I will keep you all posted for the progress for next year.
