Rich, I didn't see any stock classes. Are you just going to put the stock vehicles in with the Milds? Just curious. Good list though.

yes, in my opinion saying stock to mild is just wordy.

That's what I figured. How many of us have a completely "Stock" ride at the truck show.
Only 41 more days!

what's up with the MOPAR classes, or lack of, what a joke this event has become. Didn't learn from last years train wreck I guess...

Why no "Radical" class for MOPARs? It's bad enough that we are ignored by many of the aftermarket manufacturers and now this? Come on, did you see how many Dodge trucks were just at the ACN?
Do the right thing and add a "Radical" class for those of us who bleed MOPAR blue.
Thanks. :)

Mopar guys...I know the Chrysler show has a ton of trucks, but (as I posted on the Outlaw website) there were only 64 mopars in the judged show last year at All Truck. I hope you guys understand. Prove me wrong this year an come out in force.

Rich,
Thanks for taking the time to drop in at the Outlaws website and explain your reasoning for the set-up of MOPAR classes. I wasn't sure if you were going to stop back over and check our responses, so I decided to post here to convey my thoughts to you.
I will still be attending the ATN regardless of the structure of the MOPAR classes. Yes I am proud of my truck, I took 1st Place in the 1994 - Current 4WD Full Size Modified Class this weekend at the ACN, but I really look forward to the shows to see and hang out with my Brother Outlaws and friends from DTW, FTW, etc. The problem, at least for me, lies with all of the bitching and moaning by other participants at shows like this past weekend when they aren't happy to be in the same MOPAR class with Fourbynut and me. For example, the ACN, IMHO, needs to break out the 2nd Gen Rams and 3rd Gen Rams into two classes. Lumping 13 years of trucks with two distinctly different body styles is not the best idea. All I heard the entire weekend was complaints about having to go up against the eventual winners in my class. And there were many participants that were mad as hell that for the second year in a row this class was "swept" by lifted 2nd Gens from the PA Chapter of DTW.
All of this nonsense is taking the fun out of attending shows these days. I realize that MOPARs make up a smaller percentage of the trucks attending than the Fords & Chevys, but by adding a Radical class for the MOPARs I feel that you will show some faith in us as a group and hopefully not cause as many hard feelings from the folks with Wild trucks.
Just some thoughts based upon what I heard all weekend and of course, now that I voiced my opinions, I'll probably get creamed at the ATN in the Wild class. :D
Take care,
Bill

With diesel trucks growing in popularity,I think they should be classed different from the gasser's. It has been disscused about by members in my diesel truck club.

I would have to agree on how the classes are setup
it seems there should be another class added .. probably a Radical
Class for the Mopars
its kind hard to compete in one class Wild
for example if:
2 trucks in the Wild Class are going head to head and 1 has
say the leaf springs just as they come manufacture and another
has the leaf springs powdered coated it would seem a little unfair to
put those 2 head to head cause the powdercoating is always gonna
catch the judges eye
or if one truck has a lot of chromed parts and the other truck
has the straight from the factory parts .. thats a little unfair
because both have worked very hard on putting their truck together
I guess in the end it comes down to an analogy
its like putting a timex up against rolex ... they both display the time
but which one is gonna catch your eye more often ..

O29 FORD 4X4 OR LIFTED SUV/VAN MILD(Areostar, Bronco, Explorer, etc)
So is this the class for my stock '96 fullsize Bronco? No mods, mild or wild. (Yet.)

What's the difference between Y23 and Y24? What class would my 51 Dodge go in that was in the Invitationals at the All Chrysler show?
Rich@Carsatcarlisle

You are the second peoson to ask about y23/24 - one says mild and one says wild.
Mild vs Wild has been talked about in another post, with pictures and examples.
As for the Radical Mopar Class...it has been added in both 2wd & 4x4. I would like to see the mopar side grow, and if adding a class helps, then I'll do it.

It looks like ALL 2wd full size Dodge trucks (stock, mild, wild, radical, for ALL years) fall into just 1 category.
Maybe I'm too late to make a suggestion, but I'd rather put my '81 2wd mild custom next to ANY '72 - '93 (lifted, lowered, stock Li'l Red or Warlock) than up against some no-budget 2002-06 frame-draggin', magazine sponsored Ram.
Thanks..

if you can split the fords and gm down by body style /year why not the dodges? it is not real hard full size Pre 71 class 72-93 class and 94 to present class Dakota /D50 Pre 94 and 95 to present. Jeep- CJ wrangler YJ? class XJ-ZJ Durango Class (I covered all the dodge and jeeps in 7 classes. So the dodge and jeeps 2wd and 4x4 mild and wild would be covered in 28 classes) it is not like GM 2wd has 22 classes
I see the classes the way they are now and know I have no shot in **** at even placing. put a 78 440 SE truck that has a ton of work up against a stock SRT10, the SRT is going to win evey time. guess the folks with the 2wd jeeps can just stay home.
yep us mopar guys sure feel welcome at truck show.

28 classes with top three (not including the radical classes people want) would be 84 winners. Last year there was only 64 mopars. I have done my best to work with the mopar fans to add the radical class, you are welcome at the truck show and if you strat showing up in masses then the classes will be there.

Hi Rich,
I realize that Mopar trucks are still in the minority at a truck only event, especially the pre-'94 models. I assume your count of 64 Mopars last year counts only the trucks entered in judged competition? Maybe more fun field participants would enter the competition if the classes were different.
I will be attending the ATN for the first time this year - I have been to the ACN many times. I've decided to enter the fun field this time, but please count my attendance as a possible competitor if the classes ever become even slightly favorable for '81 - '93 2wd full-size.
Thanks,
Mark

Rich you need to stop using the ”there were only 64 dodges judged” bull
The Mopar show fills the Carlisle fairgrounds up does it not? Then look at the rows that the dodge trucks fill at the Mopar show (somewhere between 8 to 10 rows total of trucks) and they park going up the front side and down the step side if that big hill.
Neither ford nor Chevy shows fill up the fairgrounds, Even then the truck turn out is nowhere near what Mopar show has.
Lumping all of one makers trucks together just insures that nobody has a fair shot. Judged shows if the judges like the look of the 94 up trucks that are what they are going to pick to place. no matter if the 72-93 trucks is better presented.
Next year get an (88-93) eclipse and show up at the mopar show. it is the same thing a plymouth laser…. See how well you do. Then maybe you will understand what some of us guys that have older 72-93 2wd and 4x4 are trying to tell you

No better yet how many 72-93 trucks do you want to register before they get there own class for this years show?

You all probably know by now this is my first year here. At this point I can only base things on the judged numbers that I have. Next weekend I will look at the judged and non judged show fields and evaluate the numbers/classes for 2007. Please hang in there and I'll work on making the turnout better for you guys in the future. Thanks for being patient.

I'll bet there will never be enough to support more than a single class. Most of the Mopar shows I've been to, including Carlisle's ACN, may attract a fair number of Li'l Reds or a few Ramchargers/Power Wagons, but I have to resign myself to the fact that I may have the only mild custom '72 - '93 2wd at any show. I ALWAYS end up competing with a TON of '94 - up customs. My suggestion is simple - if enough '72 - '93 trucks show up to make a single class, throw ALL of them in together. I have no problem competing with stock LRE/Warlocks, stock, mild or wild Ramchargers (2wd or 4x4), Power Wagons, etc. To me it all comes down to budget, aftermarket parts support, and quality of workmanship. There is no way any pre - '94 can compete with the '94 - up crowd on the basis of aftermarket parts support and therefore budget.

Hey Rich, Still a little baffled about the mopar classes. I have a 51 Dodge that is modified and hot rodded out a bit. Not wild in my opinion and a stock 53 Dodge all restored. Would they both be in the mild 2wd class?

There's no breakdown for stock/mild/wild in the 2wd full-size class. ALL 2wd full size trucks (ANY year, ANY level of modification) are in the same class. Good luck against those wild 2005 Rumble Bees and SRT-10s!! :p :p
