Airbrush master Ed Beard Jr. will be demonstrating his airbrush technique and displaying his newly finished custom Dodge Hot Rod van called “DragonLord” at this years show.

Ed has had his art works licensed in well over 1,000 products world wide over the past 30 years; however, Ed’s roots were in custom auto and motorcycle airbrush muraling back in the early '80s. Ed has recently returned to custom airbrushing for the automotive industry and has created a build of his own, his Hot Rod Dodge Van titled “Dragonlord.”

With a great van display this year, Ed's involvement is an added bonus. Be sure to stop by to say hi!

The Carlisle Truck Nationals showfield is at the center of the truck action and is host to one of the largest pure truck show-n-shine events in the country. Whether you are climbing to the sky in a monster lifted 4x4, scraping the ground in a fully customized mini or turning back the hands of time in a perfectly restored classic, you’ll see them all in Carlisle, on both the judged and non-judged showfields. Compete on the judged showfield to put your truck up against some the best in the world. Our judges, from all aspects of the truck industry, will determine where your truck stands, using a standard scoring system. New for 2011: The judged showfield will park according to truck class and the judges will come to you. Judging is on Saturday only from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for participants who registered for the judged competition. Please be parked in your designated class, have your judging card available and your truck prepared for judging by 10:00 am on Saturday. Judging cards can be picked up at the Goody Bag garage upon arrival. If you’re still working on your project or just want to show your truck for fun, enter it on the non-judged showfield. The Invitational display(s) feature vehicles ranging from classic restorations to full-blown customs. New to Carlisle in 2012 is a feature that will undoubtedly catch the eye of truck enthusiasts. Check out a great display from the Clarion County Career Center in Shippenville, Pennsylvania. This group is responsible for six very unsuspecting customized trucks. Obtained via donation or loan, the Diesel Technologies class, comprised of 15-18 year old students, tears down the truck to its frame and builds it back up. As an added bonus, trucks are customized and shown at the Mid-American Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky. Following the show, trucks are either returned to their owner or sold off with proceeds going back into the school. CCCC, their students, instructor and at least three rigs will be on display during the Truck Nationals.

So you’re not the show and shine type, but have a Truck, Jeep or SUVs built for the outdoors? Our friends from Rausch Creek are going to help us out this year by sponsoring and judging a trail class.

If your rig is built strictly for the outdoors and off road, the trail class is for you. Judging criteria will be based on function, fit and fabrication to conquer the trail! If this sounds like your off road vehicle, select the trail class as you register your vehicle for the Truck Nationals.

Saturday night the Mini Trucks take over by lighting up the Carlisle night skies with white sparks from their titanium blocks. If you like’em low and laid out, this is the spot to be on for Saturday night frame dragging.

Backdraft is a member of the Monster Jam circuit and is primarily driven by Jeremy Slifko. The truck and driver have extensive experience at performing in front of crowds that enjoy high flying excitement, engine revving power and car crushing dominance. Slifko will take his Dodge monster over the cars, around the circuit and wow the audience with unmatched power!

Bring your kids to the Truck Nationals for great family entertainment. Not only are there thousands of trucks on site of varying shapes and sizes, Kids at Carlisle offers an outlet to play, color and let a kid be a kid.

Now, along with the fun of Kids at Carlisle, the Country Kids Jamboree will be on site for a puppet/marionette show plus games guaranteed to delight both kids and parents alike.

This year Carlisle will host all events, including an expanded game arcade, fabulous faces face painting, spin art, sand art, an ALL NEW Marionette show, a duck pond, shooting gallery, shuffle alley, ring toss, tic-tac-toe and more. A nominal fee may apply for most games with prizes available to all participants.

Blackwater Jam is the ultimate, no holds-barred Southern Rock and Blues band from South Central PA. Carlisle Events recognizes the need that today’s technology plays with today’s technician. Because of that, you could win an iPad at any one of our 10 Carlisle based events. Contestants for Ms. Carlisle Truck Nationals compete for cash prizes on Saturday evening on the WGTY Main Stage.

No Carlisle event would be complete without the burnout contest. This years winner will be determined by the crowd after three minutes or a blown tire. If you think you can be Carlisle King (or Queen) of the Hill bragging rights are up for grabs in 2012.

Have you ever wanted to make someone or something disappear? Magician Eddy Ray can and he'll be doing just that as part of the Carlisle Truck Nationals. His appearance will be on Saturday only, with two performances, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., both near the main stage.

Eddy has been astounding people from the U.S.A. to Japan and all points in between with his incredible and artistic slight of hand, hilarious interactive audience segments and fresh approach to performing magic and illusions. Those skills have enabled him to win many awards, including a 4th place prize at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Eddy has also starred in and produced his own television series called Magic Town and has performed in every imaginable venue.

The Truck Nationals is fun for the entire family and we have not forgotten the kids. In the Kids at Carlisle Activity Center Area, we have crafts for kids and parents to enjoy together. We also have lots of play activities that we think will “wow” the young ones. Come and check it out!

Are you a member of a local, regional national or web based club? The Carlisle Truck Nationals want you if so. Annually, truck clubs enjoy a fun weekend at Carlisle, some even use the event as the host to their national meets.

Be a part of the Club Tent Program and your group could earn the right to use a 20x20 tent for free. You'll need at least 25 registered trucks to be considered for the complimentary tent. These tents make a great location for the club headquarters and the ideal place to hang out and socialize. Larger clubs are eligible for larger tents.
